Extra credit

Watch "Racism" on YouTube
I chosed this video because I wanted to compare it to most storys of the beginning of the book. This video is about this detective who think he knows everything and he is so racist that he blocks reality and makes up this absurd stories that only himself thinks would happen. People think differently and what I learned from this class is that a person can think they have a clean mind and not be racist but no matter what they think, Another might take it in a different way and not like the way you think.like in the video the only way to let a person know that they are being racist is to let them see the reality and let them  see that they are hurting people that's surrounding them and their actions are wrong. Racism always comes down to how you view things in life  , people have to wake up and see that humans shouldn't be seen as color because there is no such thing as a " black or white person" . We as people have to reunie and be together as one to support each other , instead of hating each for not having the same skin color. Racism has been going on for a long time now and it just keeps going on through different ways that we almost can't keep up. The most important part to this video is the part at the end where the other officer lets the racist detective   know that he was wrong for thinking the way he did so he showed him that he was wrong with the prediction he made and that for being racist a killer would've been on the streets putting other lifes in danger. Not that I know off but I have never been racist on my life and never count of being,  I believe everybody should be treated equally and I hope that  one day ill live in a world where there will not be discrimination.

Racist much?

Do you think is racist?

10 quick ways to analyze children books for racism and sexism.

1)what passage did you find most important ?

Thinking back on my child hood i really cant remember how racist or sexist was the media. Now that i have read the 10 quick ways to analyze children's books for Racism and sexism i can somewhat figure out that its true, All the cartoons that my generation and the one before were so use to watching that we did not  even notice how racist or sexist it was. I believe that the most important passage is on page ten on the number one   where they talk about how check if the illustration of a  book is racist or sexist.I think this is the most important part of the of the passage because the author says to make sure to look for stereotypes, A stereotype is a simply generalization about a particular group, race, or sex that usually somewhat of an effect. He also tells us to always check of who's doing what? Do the illustrations pick minorities to be less important and passive roles or in leader ship and actions roles? are the males the active "doers" and  the females the inactive observers?. I believe that the media has done so much damage to the mind of the kids that you really cant fight it, But someone has to open the eyes of the kids because they are being blinded by the media with all these bad things and don't even notice it because they are to young, just like i was and everybody else.
